Band gwerin aml-offerynnwr o Sir Gaerfyrddin yw’r Meadows. Dyfarnwyd “Fatea Debut Album of the Year 2019” i’w halbwm ‘Force of the Tide’ ynghyd â derbyn enwebiad am yr Albwm Gorau yng ngwobrau cylchgrawn Sound Board.
Yn ystod 2019 i ddechrau 2020, aeth y band ar y ffordd gyda’u taith albwm gyntaf ‘Force of the Tide’ a dderbyniodd glod beirniadol uchel, gyda’r brodyr a chwiorydd yn gwehyddu rhwng riliau bywiog a harmonïau lleisiol cyfoethog. Gan ymchwilio i dreftadaeth forwrol Ynysoedd Prydain, mae’r albwm yn amrywio o’r hwiangerdd forwrol hyfryd Gymraeg ‘Si Hei Lwli Mabi’ i siantïau môr wedi’u hail-lunio ac alawon offerynnol bywiog.
The Meadows are a Carmarthenshire-based multi-instrumentalist Folk band. Their album, ‘Force of the Tide’ was awarded Fatea Debut Album of the Year 2019 along with receiving a nomination for Best Album at the Sound Board Magazine Awards.
During 2019 to early 2020, the band took to the road with their ‘Force of the Tide’ debut album tour which received high critical acclaim, with the siblings weaving between lively reels and rich vocal harmonies. Delving into the seafaring heritage of the British Isles, the album ranges from the beautiful Welsh language maritime lullaby ‘Si Hei Lwli Mabi’ to reimagined sea shanties and uptempo instrumental tunes.
