Donate towards the future of our heritage
Wales’ traditional arts are a foundation stone in our nation’s identity. Our music, song, cerdd dant, dance, and storytelling carry and express our distinctive history, languages, culture and way of life.
You can help our charity look after and develop this precious heritage.
With your support we can continue to reach thousands of people every year at workshops, residential courses and public performances. Our small but dedicated team supports hundreds of musicians, singers, dancers, festivals and folk organisers by providing information and advice to them and to the public. We encourage the next generation of musicians and dancers, provide Artist Development for professional performers, and promote music from Wales at international events. Here are some of the ways you can be part of this.
Any contribution you can make, large or small, will play a vital role in helping the music and songs, dance and stories of Wales to flourish. If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aiding your donation will make it even more valuable to us.
Become a Friend of Trac Cymru
A regular donation to support our work would help us achieve our vision of keeping Wales’ folk music, dance, song and story flourishing for future generations. Regular gifts help us to plan our work and ensure that our cultural heritage remains well-supported.
A regular donation of £10 a month would be a worthwhile investment in the future of the traditional folk arts of Wales. As a registered charity, Gift Aiding your regular donations will be even more valuable to the work we do.

Sponsor a young person
Trac Cymru aims to make learning and sharing in our cultural heritage as accessible as possible. Our residential courses always offer bursary places for cases of financial hardship; with your help we could do more.
You could sponsor a bursary place in your own name, as a memorial to a loved one, or anonymously. You’d be helping a child or young person from a less fortunate family to develop both creatively and socially.
Contact us at trac@trac-cymru.org for details of what current activities could benefit from your help.
Business Sponsorship
Supporting Trac Cymru’s activities could bring mutual benefits. Consider
- The Wales Folk Awards: ten biennial prizes rewarding excellence, broadcast on radio and with extensive social media coverage
- The National Youth Folk Ensemble: fifteen of our brightest young talents performing on festival stages under the stage name Avanc
- International networking with partners across Europe, North America and Australasia through the European Folk Network, WOMEX, Folk Alliance and more
- Gwerin Gwallgo and Gwerin Iau, residential courses for school-age musicians, singers and dancers – sponsor the whole event or individual places on it, eg for a child from where your business is based
Contact us at trac@trac-cymru.org to discuss how we might work together.

Thank you to our Funders
We couldn’t do the work we do without support from many sources. We’d like to say thank you to the Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government, who are major supporters, and also to the other organisations, Trusts, Foundations and individual donors who help the charity to reach people, change lives, foster excellence and develop the living heritage of Wales.
